“ It’s so hard to sum up exactly what I want to do here because there are just so many things and so many ideas that run through my head on a daily basis. Ultimately, I want to be able to raise our family here, and also work here as a living. Teach the kids a thing or two about business and also about providing for themselves from scratch. The idea of a homestead these days is super trendy but it’s honestly always been apart of my plan, even before the hype. I’m not a hermit personality though. I’ve never wanted to escape from the world or anything. So another big part of this dream is to share it with our community and beyond. Because I am an event planner by nature, small private events has always been on the forefreont. Sharing the progress on social media is another huge factor that I am hoping to grow. And beyond that, photoshoots, markets, workshops, holiday events, a small farm stand or shop, is all on the horizon. Or at least that’s the goal! ” - Stephanie

Since moving in, Stephanie has been establishing her event planning business in the Frederick area, and also bringing the Whitewood Farmette idea to life. The family has been working hard on fixing up the farmhouse and grounds. They began growing vegetables and flowers, added their first farm animals in the Spring of 2023, a flock of 10 chickens, and started hosting small photoshoots.

“ There are SO many future goals and dreams at Whitewood Farmette. We want this to be some type of working farm whether that’s a flower farm, pumpkins patch, or Christmas tree farm. I’ve even thought about an herb or lavender farm. Then beyond that, just slowly making the grounds as pretty as possible while keeping the functionality so that we can host small private events, but also live here. I have a vision of planning and decorating small events for people, using many of the things we grow on-site. I mean how cute would a Spring photoshoot be with baby chickens running around everywhere?? ” - Stephanie
